Emergency Preparedness / Disaster Safety

The exam comprises a brief background discussion and assessment to test the clinician's knowledge of preparing for emergencies, developing crisis plans, and safely recovering from disasters.

Emergency Room Technician

The Emergency Room (ER / ED) Technician exam comprises competencies to test the clinician’s knowledge of assisting with emergency medical processes, closely monitor vital signs, work closely with doctors and nurses in helping patients receive immediate medical treatment and collect blood and tissue samples or other laboratory specimen for testing.

Emergent Medical Technician (EMT)

The EMT exam comprises competencies to test the clinician’s knowledge of giving emergency care or basic medical and first-aid care until a person can get help at a hospital or other medical facility.

EMTALA

This course will provide the clinician the opportunity to build knowledge and understanding of the scope and provisions of the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) and to learn the requirements for transferring patients under EMTALA and the penalties associated with violating the law.

End of Life Care

This course will allow the clinician to build knowledge and understanding of the four areas of End-of-Life care management and develop the skills to reduce the emotional burden of the caregiver, relatives, or loved ones.
